FINE LEG XI
About

What this is

Fine Leg XI lets you draft an all-time IPL eleven from nineteen real seasons of the archive — 2008 through 2026, 3,337 player-seasons across 166 franchise-seasons — and play out a full season with it: fourteen league matches, a table, then the playoffs, against nine other sides each drawn from a real historical squad. Play alone, or open a room and draft against friends live.

Every card's rating is computed from the same ball-by-ball data every match in the archive is built from — runs, wickets, the situation a player faced them in — not a guess and not an official figure. The method is described in full, including every correction made along the way, in the project's own public source and notes.

Where the data comes from

Every ball, every dismissal, every scorecard comes from Cricsheet, an open, contributor-driven archive of professional cricket data. Fine Leg XI owes it a real debt: without a public record this detailed, none of the ratings or the season simulation would exist.

What it isn't

This is an independent, unofficial project built for fun by one person. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the BCCI, the Indian Premier League, or any of the franchises it depicts. Team and player names appear only because they are the real historical record — the same reason a scorecard or an almanac from any other era would carry them.

Accounts are optional

Nothing here requires signing in. Draft, play a season, or open a room with friends exactly as before. Creating an account is only useful if you want your name to show when you play with others and your completed games saved to a career profile — see the FAQ for what that actually stores.
